I've had a terrible day today. It all started with Will fighting with me this morning. He asked my to do the laundry, which it his job. He knows I had to work tonight and that I would be sleeping during the day. It pisses me off, because sometimes I feel like his mom or something. Then when I do do something, he is so damn picky about it! Just be glad I did anything at all! So ungrateful!!!
It's days like this that make me miss my old life. I haven't done anything since I started this job. I don't see my friends or go out anywhere. I just live in two places, home and work. It sucks living by moonlight. The other day I tried to go out with Will. I was so fucking tired. Even the sun burned my eyes, and it was sunset! I recalled wrong about this job. Since I was alone in Austin, I was able to make things work. Now... well it's killing my marriage and my sanity. It's like I'm requied to be both housewife and night auditor. It's so unfair. Sure I only work part time but I live in the night, so I can't very well clean without waking Will up.
Another thing, I feel like such and anti-social slob. I haven't talked to anyone telephone or face to face other than Will in weeks. I think that's why I have absorbed myself in Second Life. It's my only social interaction lately. I have friends in there that keep me from going over the sanity's cliff. Even with Second Life I still feel a void. It pains me to see Will go out with friends. Then he comes home to tell me the details, ARG! I'm a jealous, YOU BET I AM! Live a few weeks in my shoes and you will realize how much it sucks!
P.S: I got my paycheck today...(sarcasm time) Yay, a whole $350 for my hard work and degration of my life!! Gotta love it! :P
Twitter wuvs me!

A little Second Life tid bit.
I heard about this a while ago. Pesonally I think it's odd that the goverment has interest in using SL for such a project. Ah our tax dollars at work ._.'
Homeland Security and Second Life
BTW can't you tell I'm going though withdrawl. I can't wait till the grid is back up.

*sigh* a day off with no SL
Today Second Life want down for an update. According to the forms this means it won't be back up until the day's end. I was really looking forward to working on some designs that I've had in my head for a long time. Oh, well...
William kinda pissed me off his morning too. He kept on trying to pull me away from the game, like he's jealous or something. I never pull him away when he's playing video games. I'll admit there is a lot of people who "cyber" on SL but I'm not one of them. Personally I think it is silly. Why in the world would I talk to someone about sex when I can have the real thing? Sometimes he can be too insecure of our relationship.

You're in a band?
Wow, interesting night tonight. Well more like interesting guests. My first guest was this nice lady from Mississippi. She is a hurricane refugee who lost her home and suffered a back injury. She came in with a moving van filled with her belogings. We enjoyed a nice conversion. You can tell she is trying to stay strong, by the way she held back tears when giving my her old address. Just because we don't see coverage of Katrina on T.V. anymore doesn't mean people aren't still suffering. So please donate to a charity if you are reading this. Put yourself in her shoes.
My next guests were heading to San Antonio for the Nine Inch Nalis concert tonight. They stayed only a few hours then left in their bus. Yes there weren't fan boys. There were the band "Death from Above 1979." For those who are fans of this duo I apologize for not realizing who they were sooner. I think I knida pissed Sebastian off ^-^. They wanted to check out during my audit. I then to get a little bichy when people do that. Jessie was a sweetie though. He was more calm about the situation.

I'm back at work. It seems to be a quiet night. Let's hope it stays this way. The hotel is full, and there is a soft rain falling. No thunder yet, thank GOD! I've been praying that the other night won't repeat it's self.
I have a ton of laundry tonight! It expected since we were full last night too. But I've been punching it out at a good pace. There stuff in the dryer, that's why I'm writing. I like there 5 minute breaks between loads. I've had them all night. Well, there the buzzer, GTG.

A Stormy Mess!
What a night! Last night was my first official day of going solo and mother nature decided to mess with me.
Everything was going fine for the first few hours, I was working on laundry, the pre-audit was done. I was enjoying the sound of the rain outside and the peacefulness of the night. Then all hell broke loose! At 3 AM, without much warning a bolt of lighting struck the hotel. The surge it brought set off all the alarms, and crashed my computers. Almost immediately the calls came poring in from the 80+ guests staying in the hotel. Panic set in and I just stared at the phone ringing uncontrollably.
Then my brain finally took over. I checked the hotel for a fire, (there wasn't one) and reset the alarms and the computers. Once the alarms stopped the calls followed suit. What was concerning is that very few people evacuated the hotel. Most stayed by their doorway in a daze. If I heard the fire alarm go off I would get the F*** out! Well one thing is for sure, I had an exciting night!
The guest's stupidest question of the day goes to the lady in 318. "Is this a fire drill?" Um, yes we like to do fire drills at 3 AM.... Come on, this is a hotel not a elementary school! What silly people.

...high ho, high ho, blogging at work I go...
Wow, I never figured how slow the hotel is at night. Thank GOD we have internet! I would die of boredom. Back at Austin, the last time I did night audit, it was busy until 2 AM. Here, well lets just say the laundry is done and there is nothing to do! Only one guest has showed up all shift long. The only guest calls I get are for wake-up calls. I guess is good "me" time. Too bad I'm sick of "me" time after my six month hiatus.
No, I'm not really complaining. It is nice to not have to be worried about having time to finish things. It just this is a big change from looking over my shoulder a the time like on my internship. It's kind of nice!
So, it looks like I'll be posting at work a lot. Good thing John doesn't mind us surfing.

Alone at last!
Finally I am left alone to manage the hotel. Yay! Casey asked to leave early to go to a party. I said it was alright as long as she told our GM, John. He agreed since I was fine with it. So off she went. I really didn't need the help since we are full and the laundry is finished. That why I'm writing right now. ^-^ I'm a bad girl, blogging at work. :P
Well I better go. I don't want to get into trouble.

My First Day
What a good day it was. I was surprised how everything just came back to me. Pam showed me the basics and I picked it up from there. The whole day was a "Oh yeah! I remember," theme.
The main problems were that I kept on saying "Comfort Inn" and not "Comfort Suites." I said Austin a few times too! It's going to take a little bit before I get back in rhythm. Overall, I enjoyed it. It feels good like, putting a old pair of jeans that finally fit again. They don't fit exactly the same but you feel even happier wearing them than before.

Hot and Spicy Hell
Today, my father-in-law asked me to help him get to Hatch and get Chile. I've been there before with my parents. We make a nice trip of it. You know have a nice talk on the drive up and buy a bag or two, then stop in Las Cruces for lunch.
But no, my father-in-law assumed that we actually went to the fields and picked Chile! So when we arrived he seem shocked that I suggested a few stores we may purchase a few sacks.
Hell bent on hand picking it, he went on a quest to find out where we could go. I was sitting in the truck waiting for him to fail, when the clerk at the "Pick Quick" said we just needed to ask the people at the farms. *NOOooo!*
So we went Chile picking. It's so not my idea of a nice time out. It didn't help that I was wearing shorts, flip-flops and had no hat or gloves. It was so hot and there were biting flies everywhere. At least I got some nice pictures.
Today's Lesson: Never go on outings with my father-in-law. Especially when Will is not there.

Knitty Kitty strikes again!
I've been working on a sweater the past few days. Here's my progress so far. I'm more the half way done with the back. I'm trying to get the back done so I can get started on our costumes.
It's done with some Top of the Lamb in a discontinued color called Summer Sky. Which a friend gave me a while back. The accent colors I found at Unraveled (the only LYS in the area). They are a hand spun and dyed by an artist in Las Cruces. He dyes them using desert plant pigments. All the yarn have a great hand and feel very soft knitted up!

...drum roll please...
Ok, I bet you are all wondering how me interview went. Well finally after months of searching I am employed! Woo Hoo!
Actually the interview was just the manager asking if I wanted the job. From the moment I walked in the door he made it clear that I was in. He barely asked me any questions. But as our conversion went on, I saw his smile get bigger and bigger. I think I impressed him. Anyway, I start Thursday! I can't wait!

A new hope.. ^-^
Yay, for the first time in months I have an interview! It was starting to look bleak for me. After the countless applications I submitted I haven't gotten a interview until now. It's with Tharaldson Lodging, the same company that I did my internship with. The date is set for Monday so wish me luck! Woot!
